Fresh ingredients, bold flavours and a few retro numbers sprinkled in for good measure. It's new menu time here at The White Hart, and we're ready for the season ahead whatever our beloved British weather throws at us.
Cooking up a storm, come rain or shine
Dining out in Pirbright during the 'warmer months' can sometimes be confusing. One day you might be in your shorts and sandals, tucking into some alfresco nibbles with friends. The next you could be cosying up to the fire, craving a big plate of pie and mash.
That's the beauty of our new pub-food menu: it covers all eventualities, with everything from crisp, summery salads to familiar favourites you just can't live without. Here are some recommendations for when the sun does shine...
- Marinated sweet orange melon with parma ham, pomegranate & vino cotto
- Seabass fillets on roasted fennel, broad beans, peas & baby potatoes
- Sticky pork ribs glazed in a BBQ sauce with apple & celeriac slaw
- Peach melba knickerbocker glory with raspberries, sponge, ice-cream & custard
Other new additions include some lovely veggie options, a few dishes on our light lunch, supper and children's menus, and a range of bar-snacks that go great with our latest wines and cool summer drinks.
What makes our food so darned tasty?
It all starts with our quest for good ingredients, from rooting out the freshest veg and sourcing our fish direct from the nets, right down to ensuring all our eggs are free range. It's simple: we like happy hens, and happy hens make for nicer eggs.
